Dr. Yulia Zemlinskaya grew up in St Petersburg, Russia. She moved to Israel in 1997 in the framework of youth program SELA. By 2002 she completed her BA in Sociology and Political Sciences in Tel Aviv University, and continued to pursue academic career in the UK. Dr. Yulia Zemlinskaya received her PhD in 2008 at the University of Manchester. Subsequently, she served as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Sociology Department for two years. Having moved to Israel in 2010, she continued her academic career at Ben-Gurion University of Negev, in the Politics and Government Department. There she worked as a Lecturer and as a Head of the Politics of Conflict MA program for three years (2010-2013). Dr. Yulia Zemlinskaya’s expertise lies in the field of civil society and protest, Israeli society and politics. She often commentates on the variety of socio-political issues concerning Israeli society in the Russian-speaking media.In 2012 Dr. Yulia Zemlinskaya joined “Our Heritage” as a member of the Board of Directors. In 2014 she was appointed as the new Director of “Our Heritage” NGO. Currently she combines academic work as a Teaching Fellow in Hebrew University with the work in “Our Heritage”.
Sofi Sosonov -Hadar – Project Manager
Sofi Sosonov-Hadar, repatriated to Israel in 1991 from Baku, Azerbaijan. She completed her BA in Sociology, Anthropology and Education, and her MA n Non-Profit Management in Hebrew University. Currently she lives in Ramat- Gan and works as project manager at Our Heritage. Sofi joined Our Heritage in the end of 2011 because she wished to reconnect with her roots and to influence public discourse concerning Russian speaking community. Sofi takes an active part in the group of Russian speaking feminists, Dor 1.5 group, and social justice initiatives such as struggle for implementation of social housing program.
Rozanna Almog – Project Coordinator Assistant
Rozanna was born in Kiev, Ukraine. She repatriated to Israel in 1995. Nowadays, she is a student towards a Master’s degree in Public Policy School at the Federmann School of Public Policy in the Hebrew University. As well, she worked for two years in Knesset and nowadays attend the Shatil-Everett programme for social justice as a fellowman and doing her internship in “Morashtenu” Organizations the fight for the right of Olim from the USSR in Israel.
